Residents of UK are required to produce a Certificate of Vaccination against Meningococcal Meningitis (ACWY). Without this, you will not be able to get a travel visa to attend the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

 If you haven’t been vaccinated for Meningococcal Meningitis (ACWY) within the last 3 years, you must get vaccinated at least 10 days prior to the expected date of entry into Saudi Arabia.

Vaccine Information:

  • Single vaccine
  • NO prescription for the vaccine is required
  • Protection for 3 years against Meningococcal Meningitis (ACWY)
  • Compulsory visa requirement for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims by Saudi Arabia
  • Likely side effects from the vaccine can be fever and soreness at the site of injection.

The vaccine is NOT available for free through the NHS, the Hajj & Umrah Vaccine Cost is £35.00 at Miles Pharmacy.
